About GROWTH PDF Print E-mail

GROWTH Alberta is one of Alberta’s Regional Economic Development Alliances (REDAs), established by the Grizzly Regional Economic Alliance Society in 2001 to support collaboration between neighbouring municipalities, school divisions, and support agencies working as a region to achieve economic, social and political environments in which sustainable, diversified and regional growth is realized.

Working towards a consistent vision for our communities, GROWTH Alberta uses funding from our members and support agencies to develop strategies and undertake projects aimed at building the capacity of our region.

Vision

The communities within the GROWTH region will be healthy and sustainable. These communities will be able to maintain their current populations and entice others to move there. Opportunities will be available that enable the communities’ youth to remain or to move back. GROWTH Alberta will assume a leadership role in the attainment of this vision.

The third annual GROWTH Alberta Business Awards Gala was an inspirational evening, with more than 150 people in attendance to celebrate our 2007 Business Excellence Award Winners. Bob Hooey, of Ideas at Work in Egremont, Alberta hosted a full program, giving everyone in attendance an opportunity to meet and learn from some of our region's most successful entrepreneurs.

Best wishes to all those who made this evening a success! Stay tuned for 2008 nomination forms, available on this Web site, in your municipal offices, and through GROWTH Alberta this June.
